Using compute node subscriptions, an HPC solution can be achieved for under $320 with 4 compute nodes all running Red Hat Enterprise Linux in a cluster. Incremental compute nodes can be added to the cluster for $79 each.
There are two subscription options, 2 sockets or 4 sockets. A subscription for systems with up to 2 processor sockets (CPUs) will be sufficient for most deployments. For HPC clusters that use systems with up to 4 processor sockets per machine, there is the 4 socket subscription. Both of these offerings contain common technology and enjoy a consistent set of ISV and IHV certifications.
Note that clusters are ideal candidates for Red Hat's Global File System data sharing technology. And with Red Hat Network, clusters are easy to manage.
